Life Plan

Introduction

All I want in life is to have a general idea of what I want to achieve and what i’m working so hard to get to. I love exploring new thing specially space. Astronomy and Astrophysics are what I want to work in. Having something as large and mysterious as our universe always makes me want to learn more and more about it. In the next years while i’m in college I would like to read books about people who I admire such as Neil Degrasse Tyson. He has inspired me to see thing more

After high school there are numerous things I want to do and accomplish in my life. My aspirations aren’t much different than the average person, but it will still take a lot of hard work to get to where I want to be. I have many goals, but to accomplish these goals I have to get through the many obstacles that could get in the way.

I am already enrolled in community college and plan on working about 20 hours per week in addition to attending classes full time.  I will live with my parents and have no bills except a car payment.  I will be focusing my spare time on skateboarding and reading books about space. I love to skateboard and it really helps have a feeling of accomplishment and relieves me from stress and anger.

Emotional Wellness

[Example 250-300 Words]

Emotional Wellness seems like you just want say that you want to be happy because being happy and having a smile on your face will make you live longer. That Does seem to benefit you but the way I see it is that for me in order to be happy the people around me have to be happy. I want to know and make sure that the people I care about seem safe and comfortable.

In the next 12 months I want to be happy not only with my family but also that i’m happy with the classes and studying with the career I want. I want to be studying towards some sorts of science major, science always amazes me and whenever I learn something new from it, it always makes me want to share it. Sharing what I know and getting people interested in science always making me happy and motivates me to learn and teach people about it. I do believe that if you’re surrounded by people who are happy you will have a better time and enjoy going out more.

Being Emotional Well I can predict that will affect my studies and my work. People say that if you love what  you do won’t have to work another day and I don’t really agree but I feel like it can help to have a positive mindset.

My GuideLine to Financial Wellness

Intellectual Wellness

[250-300 Words]

Intellectual Wellness is about keeping your brain active. The brain is like a muscle which is critical to exercise every day. Learning something new everyday will surely maintain your curiosity and give a sense of knowledge. Being Intellectual Well doesn’t mean going to college and continue studying, it can be just as simple as reading a book.

Intelligence is quite a complicated subject when it comes to measuring one’s intelligence. We as humans believe to be the smartest living organisms that have ever lived. But how do we really know that, there’s a few ways to measure and know to be true. The IQ test work for humans but what about other types of animals, their intelligence may take from adapting and moving to better environment or learning to hunt. There is a difference in intelligence between all the animals. For example, chimpanzees and humans share 98% of DNA yet humans have learn to do so much and at much faster rate. In this discussion by Neil DeGrasse Tyson  between our intelligence and extraterrestrial intelligence made me think a lot of how thing could really be in there was a smarter race in space.

For me being Intellectually Well I have to feel that I am learning something new and something that will really help me at some point. But then again being  intelligent is not something everyone can achieve. We praise yourself for knowing how gravity works, for knowing to create art, music, and many other things. We know so many species of animals, yet we know only about 4% of what out there in the universe, and only have explored about 5% of our oceans.

We as a race need to be intellectual about our surroundings and know what to do with what we have. My way of being Intellectual Well I have to be aware that i’m smart but that just because I know somethings well enough doesn’t mean I know everything.

Occupational Wellness

[250-300 Words]

Occupational Wellness Defined

Occupational Wellness has meaning and can be interpreted differently. For me, Occupational Wellness means Balance of many things, especially work and your private life. When you are working you should give it your all even if you don’t particularly want to work there you should still work hard because you can never know if something good will come from working hard.

Balancing your life…

Balancing your life when it comes out of work is a big part of occupational wellness because you are the one being in control of the actions. You should be able to control what you do on your off time so it doesn’t affect your work life. Or vise-versa your job should control how much time you can  spend with friends or family. When you are growing up, slowly you start to realize that many small things like watching television or cartoons  isn’t worth it anymore because you have more responsibilities.

Give to get…

Sometimes you must give up spending time from something that’s aren’t necessary to things that you need to prepare for the future. A way I want to improve my occupational wellness is by doing good in school and have a part time job but still having fun skateboarding around. Skateboarding to me is a very entertaining hobby because it not only challenges your physical strength but also it helps you with fear and psychological thinking. For example, trying to learn to even ride is very difficult for some people because of the kind of mindset they have. They feel insecure about something and think only about what if they fall or something happens. Fear has to be one of our emotions that challenge our mind more than you think.  There is a trick in skateboarding called a manual where you only ride with the back 2 wheels. This requires courage and balance. Just like in the real world you must balance your life so you can have time for everything.

Physical Wellness

[250-300 Words]

To me skateboarding is more than a hobby. When I first started to skate I would fall all the time because I could balance on my skateboards. I would get so frustrated when I would fall and just wanted to quit but one day when my friend Jesus who got me into skateboarding told me something very interesting. He said ” Practice is one of the most important things at being consistent at skateboarding but having the will keep doing it every day even if you fall harder each day. Don’t try to do thing you can do.” From there on I have tried to skate everyday even if I fall.

Consistency

Consistency is key when you learn a new trick. In the process of learning the trick it could take days, weeks, months but sometimes just a few hours. It all depends on how consistent you are. The more practice you do the more used to you get to your skateboard. If you start to become consistent you will have more confidence to learn new trick and have confidence to take those trick and do them over obstacles like gaps and stairs. Being consistent takes a lot of the fear factor in skateboarding away.

Fear

Fear to me is one of the most powerful emotions that humans have. When I ask people to start getting the first thing most people would say is ” No I’m going to fall” but I just say “Well falling is part of the process you have to learn from your mistakes.” Skateboarding has a lot to do with getting over your fear of getting hurt. Falling in inevitable because just like in life you have to fail many time to learn from your mistakes, and falling and getting hurt makes you see what you are doing wrong and fix it.

Skateboarding might seem hard at first but if you just put 100% of you put strength and effort anyone can do it no matter the age you are in.

Spiritual Wellness

[250-300 Words]

An important thing for me is to have mental health and a mindset that won’t hold me back from getting what I want. I like to keep my mind active and sometimes I just think of scenarios that are ridiculous but it just seems to calm me down at some points. At night I feel most at peace because of the silence and the beauty of the stars. At nights when you can’t see the moon in the night sky it gives me a feeling of anxiety or something like that. It’s a feeling that seems I’ve lost something so big and for a second I feel like i’ll never see it again. I hypothesise that it could somewhat of foreshadow of my life where in the future I’ve lost something that was so special and it’s gone because I took it for granted.

The reason why I love space and the universe so much is because it’s such a huge place that your and Earth’s existence almost feels like it doesn’t even matter. But you can let that bring you down because you’re special. Think about it how many of you are there in this world, Just 1 out of 7.4 Billion other humans. It might just be coincidence or not but you were born at this time for a reason, and the best part about it is that you decide what that reason is. You are the author of your story and it’s up to you whether your gonna be the first human to land on Mars, to cure cancer, to invent the next generation of electronics, or just live a simple life with nothing to worry about and just being happy and content with what you have,

I know for a fact that it will be difficult for me to keep this mindset when hard times hit but i’ll always look back and know that it worked out before and it will again.

Social Wellness
[250-300 Words]

Being socially active will greatly benefit you and give you a mindset can you to inspire you to share ideas with people around you. It’s important to be around positive people because it will change your mindset to think positive and stay positive towards situations. Most of my High School and Middle school days I stay quiet and try to not get anyone’s attention. But I’ve articles such as Social issues  by The LA Times  in which it says that being surrounded and talking will help you in your work.

Next year I will be going to Mira Costa College which is a place where people go by choice so having people who want to study and are sart will influence me to do better and do all my work.
